A pair of goals netted by Miguel Ross contributed to a 5-0 PSAC victory for West Chester University over the Pitt-Johnstown men's soccer team, Tuesday afternoon in West Chester. The Mountain Cats fell to 1-10-0 overall and 0-6-0 in conference-play.
Max Adarkwah gave the Golden Rams an early lead just six minutes into the game after receiving the ball from Giovanni Mowrey and shooting to the upper right of the net, getting the ball past Pitt-Johnstown keeper
Nate Kleya.
West Chester increased to a 2-0 lead when Miguel Ross opened the second half with a goal in the 46
th minute after deflecting the ball off of Kleya.
Ross struck again in the 54
th minute, scoring off of a pass from Roberto Silva. Silva then fed the ball to Brett Beaumont who scored shortly after in the 61
st minute from six yards out after finishing a loose ball off of an indirect kick.
Just three minutes later in the 63
rd minute, Wyatt Dungan secured the 5-0 win for the Golden Rams after scoring with a bicycle kick.
Kleya suffered the loss in goal for Pitt-Johnstown after facing 21 shots and making nine saves.
Matt Palmer recorded the shutout in goal for the Golden Rams after facing two shots from the Mountain Cats. West Chester improved their record to 4-5-2 overall and 3-3-0 in the PSAC.
The Mountain Cats return home for senior day to host a PSAC match against Lock Haven University on October 10 at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field before traveling to Goldey-Beacom (DE) College for a non-conference match on October 15.Â
