Seventh-ranked Pitt-Johnstown got falls from Evan Link at 125 lbs. and Travis McKillop at 184 lbs. and led wire-to-wire in a 28-13 victory at 19^th-ranked Ashland (OH) University on Tuesday.  The Mountain Cats remained unbeaten and improved to 5-0.
 
Pitt-Johnstown got a strong start on Link's fall with just two second remaining in the second period over Sebastian Vidika in the opening bout.  Ashland came right back with an 11-3 major decision by Jerry Fenner III over Jim Harrison at 133 lbs. to cut it to 6-4.
 
The Mountain Cats got decision from Sam Hanau and Travis Shaffer at 149 lbs. to increase the lead to 12-4.  Hanau defeated Bobby Mason, 6-2, and Shaffer followed with a 9-2 win over Brent Fickel.
 
Zeb Beam's close 9-7 victory over Pitt-Johnstown true freshman Devin Austin at 157 lbs., got the Eagles to within five at 12-7 midway through the match.
 
However, Pitt-Johnstown wouldn't let Ashland get any closer.  The Mountain Cats went on to win four of the final five bouts to secure the 15-point victory.
 
Fifth-ranked Tyler Reinhart held off Christian Price, 1-0, at 165 lbs., and No. 7 John Blankenship scored a 4-0 decision over Brenden Stanley at 174 lbs. to increase it to 18-7,
 
Fourth-ranked McKillop, the D2Wrestle.com National Wrestler of the Week, then pinned No. 7 Brandon O'Neill at 1:52 of the first period to record his ninth fall of the season and put the match out of reach for the Mountain Cats.
 
Ashland got an early pin from top-ranked Joe Brandt at 197 lbs. to get the Eagles deficit down to 24-13, but sixth-ranked D.J. Sims closed it out for Pitt-Johnstown with an 11-0 major decision over Tyler Shank at 285 lbs.
 
With the loss, the Eagles slipped to 0-1.
 
The Mountain Cats close out the first semester at the Midwest Classic in Indianapolis on December 19-20, before traveling to Lake Erie (OH) College on January 15 and Seton Hill University on January 20.  Pitt-Johnstown will wrestle its next home match on January 22 when Gannon University visits the Sports Center.
