Trinity Christian (IL) College scored a run in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a tie game, then went on to hold off the Pitt-Johnstown softball team, 2-1, Thursday evening in Clermont, Fla. Pitt-Johnstown fell to 0-5 to start the year.

Rachel Hoffman suffered the tough loss after allowing two run (1 earned) on four hits in a complete-game effort. Hoffman also fanned six and walked four to slip to 0-3.

Karlie Tomich had an RBI double for Pitt-Johnstown, while
Marley Elbin singled and scored a run. Pitt-Johnstown also got base hits from
Emily Moore and
Stephanie Seibert in the one-run loss.

With the win, Trinity Christian improved to 4-6.

Pitt-Johnstown closes out its Spring Break trip in Florida against Minot State (ND) and Urbana (OH) on Friday, before opening-up its inaugural season in the PSAC with a doubleheader at Gannon on Tuesday.Â
