Saturday night was another night of firsts for the Pitt-Johnstown softball team in its inaugural season as a varsity sport. The night marked the program's first home games, first PSAC doubleheader, and the first win in program history after Karley Tomich's fielder's choice ground ball plated
Stephanie Seibert in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Pitt-Johnstown a 5-4 victory over Clarion at the Iron Horse Complex. Pitt-Johnstown completed the sweep witth a 3-2 victory in the nightcap to improve to 2-8 overall and 2-0 in the PSAC.
Pitt-Johnstown opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second inning.

Clarion answered with a run in the third, but
Taylor Hoover's pinch-hit run-producing single increased the Pitt-Johnstown lead to 3-1 after four innings.
The Golden Eagles battled back to regain the lead 4-3 in the seventh when a throwing error by Pitt-Johnstown catcher
Amanda O'Toole emptied the bases and also allowed Clarion hitter Casey Wilcox to come all the way around to score.
However, Pitt-Johnstown came right back to knot it at four on a
Shannon Wittig RBI single in the bottom of the frame to send the game to extra innings, setting up Tomich's walk-off fielder's choice in the ninth.
Mang finished with two hits and an RBI, while Tomich, Wittig, Luprek, and Hoover all had a hit and an RBI for Pitt-Johnstown.
Melissa Wagner, who pitched the first six innings, then re-entered and tossed the final two innings got credit for the first win in program history after allowing one run on five hits. Wagner also fanned nine to improve to 1-4.
Rachel Hoffman pitched one inning and allowed the three Clarion unearned runs in the seventh.
In game two, Hoffman pitched a complete-game and held the Golden Eagles to just two runs on seven hits to improve to 1-3 on the year.
Marley Elbin had two hits and scored a run, while Tomich tripled and drove in one. Pitt-Johnstown also got two hits, including a double, and an RBI from Wittig and an RBI single from Hoover. Along with her pitching, Hoffman tripled for Pitt-Johnstown.
With the losses, Clarion fell to 1-7 overall and 0-2 in the PSAC.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to Slippery Rock for a PSAC doubleheader on Tuesday, before hosting a non-conference doubleheader against Wheeling Jesuit (WV) on Thursday.
