Indiana University (PA) held off the Pitt-Johnstown softball team 12-9 in Sunday's first game of a PSAC-West doubleheader at Richland Elementary School, before completing the sweep with a 12-1 victory in five innings in the nightcap.Â
Stephanie Seibert and
Montana Mang each belted solo homeruns for Pitt-Johnstown, which fell to 4-18 overall and 4-10 in conference-play.

In the opener, Seibert and Mang each hit homers, before Pitt-Johnstown cut its deficit to 7-6 with four runs in the third inning. However, the Crimson Hawks added three more insurance runs in the sixth and one more in the seventh to secure the 12-9 win.

Mang went 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a homerun, and four RBI to lead Pitt-Johnstown's 12-hit attack.Â
Shannon Wittig and Karley Tomich each had two hits, including a double, and a run batted-in, while Seibert homered and
Rachel Hoffman drove in one.

Melissa Wagner pitched all seven innings in the circle for Pitt-Johnstown but suffered the loss and dropped to 1-10. Wagner surrendered all 12 runs (10 earned) on 15 IUP hits. Wagner also walked three and struck out eight.

In game two, the Crimson Hawks jumped on Pitt-Johnstown starter
Rachel Hoffman for nine first inning runs on seven hits, before adding three mores in the fifth in the 12-1 five-inning victory.

Mang doubled, singled, and drove in a run, while
Marley Elbin, Tomich, and Hoffman all had base hits to account for the other Pitt-Johnstown hits.

Hoffman tossed the first four innings and allowed 10 runs (9 earned) on 10 hits to fall to 3-7. Â
Emily Moore allowed three runs on  a pair of IUP hits in on inning in the circle.

With the sweep, the Crimson Hawks improved to 8-12 overall and 6-4 in the PSAC West.

Pitt-Johnstown will host a PSAC West doubleheaders against Slippery Rock on Monday at 2:30 p.m., California (PA) on Friday at 3 p.m., and Seton Hill on Saturday at 1 p.m. All three games are scheduled to be played at Richland Elementary School.Â
