Karlie Tomich connected for her first career homerun, but it wasn't enough, as Gannon dealt the Pitt-Johnstown 4-1 and 8-3 PSAC Western Division losses, Sunday afternoon in Erie. With the losses, Pitt-Johnstown fell to 7-29 overall and 7-21 in conference-play.

In game one, Gannon opened-up a 3-0 lead after four innings, and Golden Knights' starter Jess Rectenwald held Pitt-Johnstown to just four hits in the 4-1 victory.

Melissa Wagner for a first inning runs on Alyssa Bates' two-run over the center field fence, before making it 3-0 with another run in the fourth.

Taylor Hoover's base hit up the middle chased home
Marley Elbin with the Mountain Cats' lone run in the top of the sixth, but the Golden tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the frame to set the final at 4-1.

Hoover went 1-for-3 with an RBI for Pitt-Johnstown, while
Montana Mang, Elbin, and Wagner also had hits for Pitt-Johnstown.

Wagner fell to 3-15 after allowing four runs (3 earned) on six Gannon hits in six innings. Wagner also walked just one and struck out five.

Bates had two hits, including the two-run homer to lead the Golden Knights. Rectenwald help Pitt-Johnstown to one unearned runs on four hits in the complete-game effort.

In the nightcap, Gannon struck for two runs in the bottom of the second inning on RBI doubles from Alexa Archambeault and Allie Salerno.

The Golden Knights made it 7-0 with five more runs in the fourth inning, including Bates' second two-run homer of the afternoon.

Tomich led off the Mountain Cat fifth with a solo homerun to center field, before Pitt-Johnstown got two more in the sixth.Â
Amber Maurer doubled to lead off the inning and scored on a throwing error by Salerno, and Elbin singled-home
Stephanie Seibert to cut it to 7-3.

However, that was as close at Pitt-Johnstown could get, before suffering the 8-2 setback.

Tomich homered, and Elbin was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Mountain Cats. Maurer added a double, and
Kayla Luprek and Seibert each singled.

Rachel Hoffman got the start in the circle for Pitt-Johnstown, and took the loss to slip to 4-13 after surrendering six runs (3 earned) on seven hits over the first 3.2 innings.Â
Emily Moore pitched the final 2.1 innings and gave up two unearned runs on three hits.

Gannon got the two-run homer from Bates and two hits apiece from Rectenwald and Salerno.

Olivia Gumbita pitched a complete game for the Golden Knights. Gumbita gave up three earned runs and six hits to help Gannon improve to 24-11 overall and 18-6 in the PSAC West.

Pitt-Johnstown will close out the 2015 season with two more conference games against the Gannon on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Indiana University (PA).Â
