Brent Pedlow and Aitor de Heredia each netted a goal to give Wheeling Jesuit a 2-1 non-conference win over the Pitt-Johnstown men's soccer team, Saturday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. The Mountain Cats are now 0-6-0 overall and 0-3-0 in the conference.

Wheeling Jesuit opened scoring 24 minutes into the game after Brent Pedlow netted the ball off of a cross into the box from keeper Mathew McCormick and Trey Tucker to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead at the end of the first half.

A battle between both teams resulted in another goal for Wheeling Jesuit in the 67^th minute. Aitor de Heredia played the ball off of a pass from Yafeu Rougier in the box, sending the ball into the net off of a previous save from Mountain Cat keeper Nate Kleya.

A player up due to a Cardinals red card, Pitt-Johnstown's Haven Mackie answered with a goal in the 77^th minute from A.J. McNary to get the Mountain Cats on the board.

However, it wasn't enough to get past Wheeling Jesuit as they held on to a 2-1 lead to win the game.

Kleya suffered the loss in goal for the Mountain Cats after seeing 19 shots and making 11 saves against the Cardinals.

Mathew McCormick led Wheeling Jesuit to victory in goal by making 2 saves off of 12 Mountain Cat shots. With the win, the Cardinals improved to 4-1-1 overall and stand at 2-1-0 in the PSAC.

The Mountain Cats continue a stretch of home matches this Wednesday at 4 p.m. with a conference match against Millersville University, followed by a PSAC match against Seton Hill University on Tuesday September 29 at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
