Kendall Mahony recorded 13 kills, four blocks, and six digs to help the Lady Cat volleyball team post a 25-13, 25-20, 25-13 sweep over Slippery Rock University in Friday's second round of the 2015 PSAC Crossover in Erie. Pitt-Johnstown raised its overall record to 8-2 and improved to 2-0 in the PSAC.

Three straight errors by Pitt-Johnstown in the first set kept it close early, but the Lady Cats broke a 6-6 tie with an 8-1 run, capped by a combined block by
Maura Brehl and
Madeline George and a kill by Mahony to build a 14-7 advantage. Pitt-Johnstown continued to pull away and got a service ace from
Cambria Wierman and another kill from Mahony to increase it to 20-10 before taking the set, 20-13.

In set two,
Allison Mondorff's kill, followed by a Slippery Rock attack error, gave the Lady Cats a 12-9 lead. Pitt-Johnstown never let The Rock get closer than three the rest of the way. Another attack error by Slippery Rock made it 23-17, and two straight kills from Mahony closed out the 25-20 victory.

Slippery Rock closed an early third set deficit to 8-7, but Pitt-Johnstown ran away from the Rock after that. The Lady Cats went on to outscore Slippery Rock 17-6 to seal the sweep with a 25-13 win.

Along with Mahony,
Cambria Wierman had 11 kills and 11 digs, while Brehl added eight kills and
Larissa Swank had five kills for the Lady Cats.

Jessica Dillon finished with a match-high 21 set assists, and Mondorff chipped in 16 assists and nine digs. Pitt-Johnstown also got a match-high 19 digs from
Devan Orr and 10 digs from
Delaney Roman in the sweep.

Lamija Alisic and Leah Jones tallied seven and five kills, respectively for Slippery Rock, which fell to 7-8 overall and 0-2 in conference-play.

The Lady Cats close out the PSAC Crossover on Saturday with matches against Mercyhurst University and Edinboro University, before hosting conferences matches in the Sports Center against Millersville University Friday and Shippensburg University on Saturday.Â
