Michael Gandt netted the game winning goal with just over a minute remaining in double overtime to give Daemen (NY) College a 3-2 non-conference win over Pitt-Johnstown, Sunday afternoon in Amherst, NY. With the loss, the Mountain Cats fell to 0-3-0.

Pitt-Johnstown claimed a 1-0 lead in the first half of play when
Matt Kinney beat Daemen goalkeeper Justin Figler to the inside post, to net his first goal of the season in the 24
th minute.

The Wildcats answered with a goal from Andy Reid in the 47
th minute off of a cross in the box from Alex Reid and Jeremy Nand.

The Wildcats took the lead with 1:39 remaining in regulation after Austin Stephany rebounded his initial shot and header to go-ahead goal past
Nate Kleya.

With things looking bleak for the Mountain Cats,
John Lopez kept the Mountain Cats in the game by looping the ball over Figler into the goal to tie the game at 2-2 just 25 seconds later.

However, after one scoreless period of overtime, Gandt closed out the win for Daemen by tapping the ball into an open net off of a cross from Nand in the 108
th minute.

Kleya suffered the loss in goal for Pitt-Johnstown after facing 21 shots and making five saves.
Figler led the Wildcats to victory by making four saves off of 14 shots from the Mountain Cats. With the win, Daemen evened it record at 1-1-0.

The Mountain Cats travel to East Stroudsburg University to open PSAC-play on Saturday, before traveling to Shippensburg University for a conference match on September 15.  Pitt-Johnstown will play its next home match on September 19 at 1 p.m. against Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University.Â
