The fourth-ranked Pitt-Johnstown wrestlers recorded four falls, and an upset win by freshman Devin Austin at 157 lbs., on its way to winning all 10 bouts and shutting out PSAC Rival Gannon University 42-0, Friday night in the Sports Center.  The Mountain Cats improved to 11-1 overall and 4-0 in the PSAC.
 
In a switch from the norm, Pitt-Johnstown and Gannon drew the starting weight class prior to the match and 197 lbs. came out of the hat came out.
 
The starting weight class did not matter to the Mountain Cats.  Jacob Hart built a 5-0 led over Nigel Toussaint, then held on for a 6-5 victory, before third-ranked D.J. Sims defeated Gunner Loughman, 9-3, at 285 lbs. to make it 6-0.
 
The Mountain Cats blew it open from there.  Fifth-ranked Evan Link and Nick Roberts combined for a pair of first period pins.  Link pinned Casey Vollmer at 2:13 in the 125-lb bout, and Roberts made short work of Aaron Smith, pinning him in just 14 seconds at 133 lbs.
 
Leading 18-0 after just four bouts, two-time national qualifier Sam Hanau kept it going for Pitt-Johnstown at 141 lbs. with a 3-0 decision over Super Region No. 3 Johnny Marotto.  Travis Shaffer followed with a fall over George McGuire at 1:14, and freshman Devin Austin upset region No. 4 Garret Smith, 8-3, at 157 lbs. to build the 30-0.
 
The Mountain Cats closed it out with two more wins to secure the shutout.  All-American John Blankenship held on for a 2-0 win over Chris Matthews, and second-ranked Travis McKillop pinned Lorenzo Maddox at 2:05 to post his 15^th fall of the year and set the final at 42-0.
 
With the loss, the Golden Knights slipped to 2-2 overall and 2-2 in the PSAC.
 
Pitt-Johnstown continues its three-match home stand with a non-conference match against nationally-ranked Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University on Friday and a PSAC match against Millersville University on February 5.  Both matches will start at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center
