Hamza Mourchid scored all three goals to lead Gannon University to a 3-0 PSAC victory over the Mountain Cat soccer team, Saturday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. Pitt-Johnstown slipped to 4-11-0 overall and 1-9-0 in conference-play.
Mourchid finished Josua Ott's through ball 37 minutes into the match to put the Golden Knights in front 1-0 at the half.
Mourchid netted his second goal off of an assist from Sergio Kobowane in the 76
th minute, before completing his hat trick and setting the final score at 3-0 with a penalty kick goal 11 minutes later.
Nate Kleya surrendered all three goals in net for Pitt-Johnstown. Kleya saw 20 Gannon shots and made nine saves.
Jorge Hernandez earned the win in goal for Gannon, which improved to 10-4-1 overall and 6-2-1 in the PSAC. Hernandez faced 13 Pitt-Johnstown shots, made eight saves, and didn't allow a goal.
Pitt-Johnstown will host a non-conference match against Roberts Wesleyan (NY) on Wednesday at 3 p.m., before closing out the 2016 season with a Senior Day PSAC match against Slippery Rock on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Both matches will be played at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
