Marissa Erminio finished with a match-high 21 kills and three blocks to lead three Lady Cats who finished in double figures in kills to a 3-sets-to-1 PSAC victory over Seton Hill University, Friday night in Greensburg. Pitt-Johnstown raised its record to 17-7 overall and 10-2 in the PSAC Central Division.

Pitt-Johnstown took the first set 25-22. After the Griffins tied it with a 25-19 win, the Lady Cats sealed the victory with 25-22 and 25-20 wins.

Pitt-Johnstown opened-up a 17-12 lead in the first set on
Cambria Wierman's kills and a Seton Hill attack error, before the Griffins responded with a 6-2 run to tie it at 18 on two straight Lady Cat errors.Â
Maura Brehl's kill, followed by a Wierman service ace from Wierman put Pitt-Johnstown back in front 22-19. Seton Hill cut it to 23-22, but a service error and a Erminio kill gave the Lady Cats a 25-22 win.

In the second set, five straight points, capped by a Katie Wenson kill, gave the Griffins a 19-14 advantage. Pitt-Johnstown narrowed it to 21-19 on
Kendall Mahony's kill, but the Griffins used a block from Leah Bisignani and a Lady Cat attack error to take the set 25-19, and even the match at one set apiece.

Pitt-Johnstown started strong in the third set and got three kills from Erminio and a pair of aces from Wierman to climb out to a 9-4 lead. Seton Hill came right back to outscore the Lady Cats 8-2, and regain the lead by one on Bisignani's kill. It remained close the rest of the way until Pitt-Johnstown scored four of the final five points to win the set, 25-22, on Brehl and Mahony's combined block and Erminio's kill.

The Lady Cats held the momentum in the third set. Pitt-Johnstown got five points from Mahony and back-to-back kills from Wierman to race out to a 16-8 lead. Erminio's kill pushed it out to 20-11, before Seton Hill battled back to cut it to 23-20.  However, the Lady Cats closed out the 25-20 win and the 3-sets-to-1 victory on a kill from
Anna Johns and a Seton Hill attack error.

Along with Erminio, Brehl had had 11 kills, three blocks and five digs, while Wierman added 10 kills, four aces, and nine digs for Pitt-Johnstown. Mahony tallied nine kills, three blocks, and two aces, and Johns had eight kills and a pair of blocks.

The Lady Cats also got a match-high 41 assists and 16 digs from
Allison Mondorff, 11 assists from
Jessica Dillon, and five assists and a match-high 25 digs from
Devan Orr.Â

Cassie Hausfeld had nine kills and 16 digs, and Jenna Sassack collected nine kills and two blocks for Seton Hill, which dropped its fifth straight match and slipped to 15-10 overall and 7-5 in the PSAC Northwest Division.

Pitt-Johnstown travels to PSAC matches at California (PA) on Saturday, before returning home to host conference matches in the Sports Center against Indiana (PA) on November 4 and Clarion on November 5.
