Cambria Wierman had nine kills, and
Kendall Mahony added eight kills to lead a balanced Pitt-Johnstown attack to a 25-14, 25-17, 25-17 PSAC Central sweep over Millersville University, Friday night in the Sports Center. The Lady Cats improved to 21-8 overall and 14-3 in conference-play.
Pitt-Johnstown got five first set kills from Mahony and cruised to a 25-14 win. The Lady Cats started fast and jumped out to a 10-5 on
Anna Johns' kill. A kill by Haley Butler and a Pitt-Johnstown attack error got Millersville to with three, but the Lady Cats used an 11-5 run to break it open. Wierman's kill made it 16-9, and
Maura Brehl's kill and a Marauders' error increased to 21-12. The Lady Cats then put it away on Mahony's fifth kills of the set.
Millersville kept the second set close early, but Pitt-Johnstown used a 13-3 run to close out a 25-17 victory. Brittany Ford's kill and bad set by the Lady Cats allowed Millersville to knot it at 12, but it was all Pitt-Johnstown the rest of the way. The Lady Cats score nine of the next 11 points to make it 21-14 on Mahony's service ace and
Marissa Erminio's kill, before Pitt-Johnstown ended the 13-3 run to finish out the set.
Looking to complete the sweep, Pitt-Johnstown jumped out to a 6-1 advantage on Mahony's kill, then extended it to 14-7 on Gabriel Carney's kills and a Marauders' attack error. Millersville never got closer than five the rest of the way and
Tatiana Pitcher's kills sealed the 25-15 victory.

Wierman had nine kills and seven digs, while Mahony chipped-in eight kills, four blocks, and a pair of aces to guide Pitt-Johnstown. Erminio had six kills, and Brehl tallied five kills, two blocks, and an ace. The Lady Cats also gout four kills and a block from Johns and two kills from
Caitlin Vrabel.
Allison Mondorff collected a match-high 30 set assists and two blocks, and
Logan McIntosh and
Devan Orr each had seven digs.
Millersville, which dropped to 9-19 overall and 5-12 in the PSAC Central, was led by Erin Harman and Butler's 10 kills each.
Pitt-Johnstown will close out the 2016 regular season and celebrate Senior Day against Shippensburg on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Sports Center, before beginning the PSAC Tournament in the Sports Center on Tuesday.
