Cambria Wierman had 20 kills and 13 digs, and
Marissa Erminio added 14 kills, two blocks, and seven digs, to help the Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team earn a 3-sets-to-1 Senior Day victory over Shippensburg, Saturday afternoon in the Sports Center. Pitt-Johnstown, which avenged a loss earlier this season to the Raiders, finished the regular season at 22-8 overall and 15-3 in the PSAC Central.

The Lady Cats to the first two sets 25-20 and 25-18, before Shippensburg came back with 25-22 win in the third set. However, Pitt-Johnstown took the fourth set 25-15.

Shippensburg climbed out to a 14-10 first-set lead on an Annie Goerl kill and a Pitt-Johnstown attack error. The Lady Cats scored the next six points, including a kill from Erminio, to regain the lead by two. The Raiders came back and took an 18-17 lead, but Pitt-Johnstown closed out the first set on an 8-2 run, capped by another Erminio kill and a Shippensburg attack error.

The Lady Cats started the second set with five straight points, before pushing it out to 14-8 on a Wierman kill. Shippensburg clawed back to with one on two occasions with the last coming at 19-18 on Gabriella Johnson's kill. That was as close as it would get. Pitt-Johnstown finished strong again and outscored Shippensburg 6-0 to take 2-sets-to-none lead with a 25-18 win on
Maura Brehl's kill and
Devan Orr's service ace.

An 11-3 run, capped by kills from Wierman and
Kendall Mahony, gave Pitt-Johnstown an-eight-point lead to start the third set. Shippensburg answered with an 11-4 run of its own to cut it 15-14 on Morgan DeFloria, before the Raiders went in from 18-17 on a lady Cat attack error. After Shippensburg extended it to 21-18, Pitt-Johnstown tied it at 22, but the Raiders stayed alive with a 25-22 win on consecutive kills from Goerl, Cristen Harris, and Maura Nolan.

In the fourth set, Shippensburg held a slim two-point lead to start, but Pitt-Johnstown followed with a 14-6 run to take a 17-11 lead on back-to-back errors by the Raiders. The Lady Cats increased it to 20-15, then sealed the 25-15 win on Orr's service ace, followed by a Shippensburg attack error.

Along with Wierman and Erminio, Pitt-Johnstown also got eight kills and three blocks from Mahony and seven kills and five blocks from Brehl.

Allison Mondorff collected a match-high 44 set assists and nine digs, while Orr had match-highs of 40 digs and three aces.Â
Delaney Roman also had 11 digs in the victory for the Lady Cats.

Goerl's 20 kills and 11 digs and DeFloria's 11 kills and three blocks paced Shippensburg which ended the regular season at 26-6 overall and 13-5 in the PSAC Central.

Pitt-Johnstown will begin the PSAC Tournament in the Sports Center on Tuesday against an opponent to be determined.
