Pitt-Johnstown got a match-high 19 kills from
Marissa Erminio and 12 kills from
Kendall Mahony that helped to erase a 2-sets-to-none deficit in a five-set PSAC victory over Indiana University (PA), Friday night in the Sports Center. The Lady Cats made it four straight wins and improved to 19-7 overall and 12-2 in the PSAC Central Division.

The Lady Cats dropped the first two sets 28-26 and 25-20, but stormed back to win the next three, 25-12, 25-16, and 15-9 to win the match.

Pitt-Johnstown jumped out to a 10-6 opening set lead on
Anna Johns' kill and increased it to 16-11 on
Maura Brehl's kill. IUP scored the next six, capped by two straight Lady Cat attack errors, to knot it at 17. It remained close and Pitt-Johnstown held a 24-22 advantage, but Crimson Hawks scored three straight points to regain the lead, before winning the set, 28-26, on a kill from Alexis Anderson and a service ace from Natalie Cignetti.

In the second set, the Lady Cats held five three-point leads to start with the last coming at 12-9 on
Allison Mondorff's kill.  IUP answered with a 14-5 run to build a six-point lead of its own. Lindsay Moeller's kill gave the Crimson Hawks their first lead at 13-12, before Anderson's ace closed the run and put IUP up 23-17. A kill by Erminio got Pitt-Johnstown within four at 24-20, but an attack error by the Lady Cats on IUP's next serve gave the Crimson Hawks a 25-20 win and a 2-sets-to-none lead.

Pitt-Johnstown clawed back from an early two-point deficit and dominated the rest of the way to a 25-12 win in the third set. After a kill by Anderson and a Lady Cat attack error gave the Crimson Hawks a 7-5 lead, Pitt-Johnstown went on to outscore IUP 20-5 the rest of the way. Johns' kill made it 14-9, and two consecutive Crimson Hawks errors extended the lead to double figures, before Mahony's kill and another IUP error gave the Lady Cats the 25-12 win.

Pitt-Johnstown maintained the momentum and ran out to a 6-1 lead to begin the fourth set. The Crimson Hawks narrowed it to 10-8, but the Lady Cats used a 7-1 run to regain control and push the lead to 17-9 on kills by Erminio and Johns. Pitt-Johnstown never looked back and coasted to a 25-16 win to force a fifth set.

Cignetti gave IUP a 5-3 led in the fifth set. Pitt-Johnstown retook the lead 8-7 on back-to-back Crimson Hawks' errors, then increased it to 10-7. Another kill by Johns' made it 13-18, before Erminio's kills completed the comeback and gave the Lady Cats a 15-9 victory.

Along with her 19 kills, Erminio had two blocks and eight digs, while Mahony 12 kills, a block, and four digs to lead Pitt-Johnstown. Brehl added nine kills, three blocks, and 18 digs, and Johns collected nine kills and five blocks.

Mondorff had two kills, a match-high 45 set assists, and 13 digs. The Lady Cats also got 31 digs, four assists, and three aced from
Devan Orr, 10 digs from
Delaney Roman, and seven digs from
Sydney Sumner.

IUP, which fell to 17-8 overall and 8-6 in the PSAC Southwest, was led by Anderson's 18 kills and 25 digs, and Cignetti's 12 kills, 15 digs, and three aces.

Pitt-Johnstown hosts a PSAC match in the Sports Center against Clarion on Saturday at 1 p.m., before traveling to a conference match at Lock Haven on Tuesday.
