The third-ranked Pitt-Johnstown wrestlers raced out to a 27-0 lead and took advantage of three falls to take down PSAC rival Shippensburg University, 37-9, Tuesday night in Shippensburg.  The Mountain Cats improved to 14-1 overall and 6-0 in the PSAC and set up a meeting for the conference dual meet title against Mercyhurst University, Saturday night in the Sports Center.
 
The Mountain Cats won the first six bouts to put the match out of reach early.  Sixth-ranked Evan Link opened the night with a fall over David Reagan at 5:42 at 125 lbs., and Pitt-Johnstown kept rolling from there.
 
At 133 lbs., Nick Roberts dealt Dante Steffinino a 12-4 major decision loss, and eighth-ranked Sam Hanau increased the lead to 13-0 with a 9-2 decision over Carl Lightner at 141 lbs.
 
Travis Shaffer followed with a first period, 17-0 technical fall over Cody Blankenship in the 149-lb bout, before Devin Austin downed Adam Martz, 8-2 at 157 lbs.  Tyler Reinhart then pushed the Pitt-Johnstown lead out to 27-0 when he pinned Mark Lentz at 2:51.
 
Shippensburg finally got on the scoreboard at 174 lbs. with Shane Springer's fall over John Blankenship at :51, but the Mountain Cats responded when second-ranked Travis McKillop pinned Shane Pepper in just 40 seconds at 184 lbs.
 
The Raiders earned a 5-3 decision by Evan Ramos at 197 lbs., before third-ranked D.J. Sims closed out the 26-point Pitt-Johnstown victory with a 9-1 major decision at 285 lbs.
 
With the loss, Shippensburg slipped to 10-7 overall and 4-2 in the PSAC.
 
The 2015-16 PSAC Dual Meet Championship will be on the line when the Mountain Cats close out the 2015-16 regular season and celebrate Senior Night against No. 7 Mercyhurst University on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center.
