Taylor Hoover each hit solo homeruns, but Upper Iowa University was able to erase an early two-run deficit with four runs in the third in on its way to handing the Pitt-Johnstown softball team a 7-4 loss, Thursday evening in Clermont, Fla.

However, Upper Iowa answered with four runs in the third off of Pitt-Johnstown starter
Melissa Wagner and never gave up that lead.

Hoover's solo blast in the top of the fourth cut it to 4-3, but Upper Iowa followed with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame.

Pitt-Johnstown loaded the bases in the sixth and came away with one run when Weiser's bases loaded walk forced Mang home, but Upper Iowa went on to the 7-4 win.

Along with Hoover and Weiser's homeruns, Mang finished 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored.

Wagner fell to 0-4 after allowing all seven runs on eight Upper Iowa hits in the complete-game. Wagner also fanned four.

Pitt-Johnstown will wrap-up its Spring Trip to Clermont, Fla. against Cedarville (OH) University on Friday at 11 a.m., and Wayne State (Neb.) University and Mercy (NY) College on Saturday.Â
