After dropping Saturday's first game of a PSAC Central doubleheader, 6-2, to Clarion at Richland Elementary School, Pitt-Johnstown got a homerun and six RBI from
Kayla Luprek to secure a split with a 12-9 victory in the nightcap. Pitt-Johnstown is now 5-11 overall and 3-1 in conference-play.

In game one, the Golden Eagles built a 5-0 lead in the third inning and went on to the 6-2 win.

McKenna Kern had two hits, including a double and an RBI, and Alessa Morrison added a single and a double to lead Pitt-Johnstown.Â
Montana Mang doubled, while
Morgan Cannin,
Marley Elbin, and
Kelsey Feeney all had base hits in the loss.

Melissa Wagner pitched a complete-game in the circle for Pitt-Johnstown, but suffered the loss and fell to 2-8. Wagner gave up six runs (5 earned) on eight Clarion hits. She also struck out 10 and walked two.

Audrey Hummell went 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBI, and Christina Tressler had two hits, including a solo homerun for Clarion.

Sarah Gossard picked-up her first win of the season after holding Pitt-Johnstown to two runs (1 earned) on eight hits in seven innings.

In the nightcap, Clarion jumped on Pitt-Johnstown starter
Emily Moore for three first inning runs, but Pitt-Johnstown stormed back with three runs in the second to tie it and six runs in the third to break it open.

Luprek's 3-run homerun in the Pitt-Johnstown second inning knotted it at three, before her three-run double to right-centerfield in her next at-bat highlighted the six-run third inning.

Luprek finished 2-for-4 with a homer and a career-high six RBI, while
Amanda O'Toole and
Amber Maurer each drove in a pair for Pitt-Johnstown. Cannin also had two hits and an RBI.

Moore earned the win in the circle for Pitt-Johnstown to improve to 4-3. Moore pitched all seven innings and allowed nine runs (7 earned) on 13 hits.

With the split, Clarion is now 3-14 overall and 1-3 in the PSAC Central Division.

Pitt-Johnstown travels to Lock haven University for a PSAC Central doubleheader on Friday, before hosting a conference doubleheader against Bloomsburg on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Richland Elementary School.Â
