Ashley Shor collected four hits to help the Pitt-Johnstown softball tream battle back from an early deficit, but the University of Mount Olive (NC) broke a tie game with a run in the bottom of the sixth inning to hand Pitt-Johnstown a 5-4 loss, Monday morning in Clermont, Fla.  Pitt-Johnstown slipped to 1-2 to start the year.

Taylor Hoover and Shor each had RBI singles in the first inning put Pitt-Johnstown in front 2-0, but Mount Olive struck for four runs in the bottom of the second off of Melissa Wagner.

Hoover's bases loaded single in the fourth cut the Pitt-Johnstown deficit to one, before Montana Mang's sacrifice fly chased home Amber Maurer in the top of the sixth to knot it at four.

However, Mount Olive answered with the evenutal game-winning run in the bottom of the frame and was able to hold on for the 5-4 win.

Shor went 4-for-4 with an RBI, while Hoover singled twice and drove in a pair to lead Pitt-Johnstown.  Morgan Cannin also had two hits and scored a run.

Wagner fell to 0-2 after allowing five runs (4 earned) on five hits in a complete-game effort.  Wagner struck out five.

With the win, Mount Olive improved to 9-10.
