Melissa Wagner pitched two complete-games, and
Montana Mang had four hits, including a homerun and a double, to help the Pitt-Johnstown softball team complete the season sweep over Mansfield University with 5-1 and 6-4 victories, Wednesday afternoon in Mansfield.

With the sweep, Pitt-Johnstown improved to 8-17 overall and moved into a tie for fourth-place with Mansfield in the PSAC Central Division at 5-7.

In game one, Pitt-Johnstown built a 5-1 lead in the sixth inning, and Wagner held Mansfield to a run on four hits in the 5-1 win.

Back-to-back RBI doubles to the gap in centerfield by
Amber Maurer and
Morgan Cannin, followed by
Montana Mang's run-scoring single up the middle put Pitt-Johnstown in front 3-0 in the third.

Pitt-Johnstown added two more in the sixth. Â Mang belted a one-out solo homerun over the centerfield fence, before
Allessa Morrison tripled and scored on
Taylor Hoover's error by Mansfield's first baseman Rachael Sterner.

The Mountaineers scored a run in the bottom of the frame, but Wagner pitched a scoreless seventh inning to preserve the win.

Wagner tossed all seven inning in the circle for Pitt-Johnstown and limited Mansfield to just one run on four hits. Wagner also fanned 12 and walked one.

Mang went 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBI, while Maurer and Cannin added RBI hits for Pitt-Johnstown.

In game two, Pitt-Johnstown ran out to a 6-2 lead and held off Mansfield, 6-4 to complete the sweep.

Cannin scored on a throwing error and Hoover's base hit chased home Morrison to give Pitt-Johnstown an early 2-0 advantage.

Marley Elbin led off the Pitt-Johnstown third with a double and scored on Mang's triple down the right field line, before a single through the left side plated Mang to extend the lead to 4-0.

After Pitt-Johnstown made it 5-0 with a run in the fifth, Sterner's two-run homer down the left field line in the bottom of the frame cut Mansfield's deficit to 5-2

Pitt-Johnstown got one of those runs back in the fifth when
Ashley Shor singled-home Morrison.

The Mountaineers got a two-run homer from Laura Lawson in Mansfield's half of the seventh, but Wagner was able to work out of the inning to pick up her second victory of the day.

Morrison finished 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Mang and Hoover each had two hits and drove in a run. Pitt-Johnstown also got a pair of hits from Cannin and an RBI apiece from Elbin and Shor.

Wagner surrendered four earned runs on seven hits, while striking out eight and not allowing a walk to improve to 4-12.
Pitt-Johnstown will host a PSAC Central doubleheader against Lock Haven University on Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Richland Elementary School, before traveling to Clarion University for a conference doubleheader on Saturday.Â
