Seton Hill University took advantage of a pair of goals in each half to defeat the Mountain Cat men's soccer team, 4-1, Tuesday afternoon in Greensburg. Pitt-Johnstown slipped to 1-6-0 overall and 1-4-0 in the PSAC.
Goals by Curtis Gallagher in the eighth minute and Tom Urquhart in the 22
nd minute gave the Griffins a 2-0 halftime lead.
Pitt-Johnstown responded with an unassisted goal from
Haven Mackie three minutes into second half, but Seton Hill was able to tack on two more goals of its own to secure the win.
Rory McKinnon made it 3-1 with a goal six minute after Mackie's, and Joe Smith scored off of McKinnon's assist in the 74
th minute to end the scoring.
Pitt-Johnstown's
Nate Kleya suffered the loss in goal after facing 24 Seton Hill shots, making six saves, and allowing all four goals. Austin Iddon earned the win for the Griffins. Iddon saw just five Mountain Cat shots, made two saves, and surrendered one goal.
Pitt-Johnstown continues a stretch of seven straight road matches with a PSAC match at Mercyhurst on Saturday, and non-conference matches at Shepherd (WV) on October 4 and Washington Adventist (MD) on October 5. The Mountain Cats will play their next home match on October 11 at 1:30 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
