East Stroudsburg Nets 3-0 PSAC Win Over Women’s Soccer

East Stroudsburg, PA

Haley Skove scored 31 minutes into the match, before East Stroudsburg University added two more second half goals to defeat the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team, 3-0, Friday afternoon in East Stroudsburg.  Pitt-Johnstown fell to 1-12-1 overall and 1-10-1 in the PSAC.
 
Despite having to face 11 first half shots, Pitt-Johnstown goalkeeper Leigh Appolonia made four saves and surrendered just goal, a header from Skove off of Hannah Saggese's corner kick in the 31st minute that gave East Stroudsburg a 1-0 halftime advantage.
 
The Warriors made it 2-0 in the 64th minute on Monica Wood's goal, before Alex Pickett finished Nicole Abbott's assist six minutes later to set the final at 3-0.
 
Applonia played the first 81 minutes in goal for the Mountain and made six saves on 19 East Stroudsburg shots.  Maria Mosquera played the final nine minutes and saw one shot.
 
Jules Harris picked-up the shutout in net for The Warriors after seeing nine Pitt-Johnstown shots and making six saves.
 
With the win, East Stroudsburg improved to 9-2-2 overall and 9-2-1 in the PSAC.
 
Pitt-Johnstown will host a PSAC match against Seton Hill on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, before traveling to a conference match at Bloomsburg on October 21.
