No. 6 Kutztown Shuts Out Women’s Soccer, 4-0, in 2017 Season Finale

Johnstown, PA

4610Maddie Mohr scored a pair of first half goal to give sixth-ranked Kutztown a 2-0 halftime lead on its way to a 4-0 PSAC victory over the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team in Saturday's season finale at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.  Pitt-Johnstown's season came to an end with a 1-16-1 overall record and a 1-14-1 mark in conference-play.
 
Prior to the match, Pitt-Johnstown recognized this year's lone senior, Sam Bahorich.
 
Mohr scored in the fifth minute on a deflection, before adding her second on a header in the 27th minute to put the Golden Bears up 2-0 at the break.
 
Kutztown increased it to 3-0 with a goal from Maggie Cecere 13 minutes into the second half and set the final at 4-0 when Hannah Oren's finished Kate Martin's throughball to the far post with five minutes left in regulation.
 
Leigh Appolonia suffered the loss for Pitt-Johnstown, which held a one-shot advantage in shots.  Appolonia saw 13 Kutztown shots and made three saves, but allowed all four goals.
 
Imani Taylor secured the shutout for the Golden Bears after facing 14 Pitt-Johnstown shots and making seven saves.
 
With the win, Kutztown moved to 15-2-1 overall and 13-2-1 in the PSAC.
