Northern State (SD) University scored a run in the first inning, then added two more in the fourth on its way to a 3-0 victory over Pitt-Johnstown, Saturday afternoon in Clermont, Fla.  Allison Rizzo collected a pair of hits for Pitt-Johnstown, which ended its Spring Trip at 5-5.
 
Along with Rizzo's two hits, Pitt-Johnstown also got base hits from Morgan Cannin, Marley Elbin, Kelsey Feeney, and Amber Maurer.
 
Emily Moore started and suffered the loss after allowing three runs on eight hits over the first 4 2/3 innings.  Samantha Frey pitched the final 1 1/3 innings and held Northern State hitless.
 
Northern State improved to 13-5.
 
Pitt-Johnstown travels to Mount Aloysius College on Wednesday, before making its 2017 home debut with a non-conference doubleheader against Shippensburg on Saturday, March 18 at the V.E. Erickson complex.
