Quincy (IL) University broke open a one-run game with four runs in the third inning to defeat the Pitt-Johnstown softball team, 5-2, Saturday morning in Clermont, Fla.Â

Kelsey Feeney each had two hits for Pitt-Johnstown, which slipped to 5-4.

Quincy scored a run in the first off of Pitt-Johnstown starter
Melissa Wagner, then added four more in the third.

Pitt-Johnstown was able to cut it to 5-2 with a pair of runs in the seventh.

Elbin and Feeney each had two hits, while
Morgan Cannin and
McKenna Kern had one hit apiece for Pitt-Johnstown.

Wagner pitched a complete-game, but suffered the loss after giving up five runs (1 earned) on nine hits.

With the win, Quincy evened its record at 5-5.

Pitt-Johnstown travels to Mount Aloysius College on Wednesday, before making its 2017 home debut with a non-conference doubleheader against Shippensburg on Saturday, March 18 at the V.E. Erickson complex.
