Montana Mang drove in three, and Marely Elbin added two RBI to help the Pitt-Johnstown softball team open PSAC-Central play with a 6-2 victory over Lock Haven University in Saturday's first game of a doubleheader at V.E. Erickson Complex. The Bald Eagles took game two, 4-0. Pitt-Johnstown is now 9-7 overall and 1-1 in the PSAC Central.

In game one, Pitt-Johnstown scored a run in the bottom of the first, then added two more in the second on Elbin's two-run single.

Mang drove in two in the Pitt-Johnstown fourth inning, and
McKenna Kern's run-producing single in the sixth pushed it out to 6-0.

Lock Haven answered with a pair of runs in its half of the seventh, but
Melissa Wagner was able to work out of the jam to secure the win and improve to 6-2.

Wagner pitched all seven innings in the circle for Pitt-Johnstown and held the Bald Eagles to just a pair of runs on four hits. Wagner also struck out 10 and walked four.

In the nightcap, Lock Haven scored a pair of runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings and got a one-hit shutout from Bekah Slattery to secure the split with the 4-0 win.

Back-to-back home runs to lead of the Bald Eagles fourth inning from Michelle Holweger and Rachel Mouillesseau made it 2-0, before Moriah Lindsey drove in two with a single in the Lock Haven fifth inning.

Cannin's lead-off single in bottom of the fourth inning accounted for Pitt-Johnstown's lone hit off of Slattery.

Wagner started in the circle for Pitt-Johnstown and took the loss after allowing two runs on five hits over the first three innings.Â
Emily Moore pitched the final four innings and gave up two runs on three hits.

With the split, Lock Haven is now 10-12 overall and 1-1 in the PSAC Central.

Pitt-Johnstown travels to Mansfield for a PSAC doubleheader on Sunday, before traveling to a non-conference doubleheader at Salem International (WV) on Tuesday.
