John Knox's goal early in the first half gave Pitt-Johnstown the lead, but Lock Haven scored a pair unanswered goals after that and went on to defeat the Mountain Cats, 2-1, in PSAC action Saturday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. The Mountain Cats slipped to 0-3-1 overall and 0-2-0 in the PSAC.
In the 12
th minute, Knox scored off a header on a throughball by
D.J. Vogelman to open the scoring and give Pitt-Johnstown the lead.
However, Lock Haven tied it in the 23
rd minute, when Andrew Moore's header off of a corner kick from Christian Wieand found the back of the net.
Lock Haven would get the decisive goal in the 75
th minute when Shane Colegrove beat Pitt-Johnstown goalkeeper
Nate Kleya to make it 2-1 Lock Haven.
Kleya who took the loss in net for the Mountain Cats faced 30 Lock Haven shots making 13 saves while allowing two goals. Troy Teresak earned the win for Lock Haven.
The Mountain Cats will take on Wheeling Jesuit (W. Va.) in a non-conference match on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, before hosting a PSAC match against West Chester University on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
