First Half Goal Leads California (PA) to PSAC Win Over Women’s Soccer

Johnstown, PA

4609Kiley Austin scored in the 32nd minute, and California (PA) made it stand-up in a 1-0 PSAC victory over the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team, Wednesday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. The Mountain Cats fell to 1-1-1 overall and 1-1-1 in conference-play.
 
Austin's header off of Daniela Dell'Aquila's corner kick 32 minutes in found the back of the net behind Pitt-Johnstown's goalkeeper Leigh Appolonia for the lone goal of the match.
 
Appolonia saw 10 California (PA) shots and made six saves, but took the loss for the Mountain Cats.
 
Michaela Colon earned the shutout in goal for the Vulcans, who improved their record to 1-1-1 overall and 1-0-1 in conference.  Colon faced 17 Pitt-Johnstown shots and made five saves.
 
The Mountain Cats return to action with a PSAC match at Millersville University on Saturday, before returning home for a conference match against Gannon University on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
