Soccer Teams to Host PSAC Matches Against East Stroudsburg at Windber Stadium

6247The Pitt-Johnstown men's and women's soccer teams will host a PSAC doubleheader against East Stroudsburg University, Friday afternoon at Windber Stadium.  The women will kick-off at 1 p.m. with the men's game to follow at 3:30 p.m.
 
These matches were moved to Windber Stadium due to poor field conditions at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
 
The Pitt-Johnstown women, 4-8-0 overall and 4-7-0 in the PSAC under first-year Coach Vito Addalli, suffered a 2-1 loss at Slippery Rock on October 3 and a 4-2 home loss to Shippensburg on Saturday.  Emily Esser's second goal of the match tied it at two in the 61st minute, but Shippensburg scored a minute later and added an insurance goal in the 73rd minute.
 
Coach Rob Burkowitz's (11th year) Warriors, 9-3-1 overall and 8-2-1 in the PSAC, got a goal from Jules Sicker in a 1-0 PSAC win over Gannon on Saturday, before Danielle Cary's goal lifted the Warriors to a non-conference win at Molloy (NY) on Tuesday.
 
Last year, the Warriors got goals from Monica Wood and Alex Pickett in a six-minute span of the second half to earn a 3-0 win in East Stroudsburg.
 
Pitt-Johnstown travels to a PSAC match at Seton Hill on Sunday and to a non-conference match at Alderson-Broaddus (WV) on Tuesday, before hosting a conference match against Bloomsburg on October 20 at 2:30 p.m.
 
 
6067Coach Eric Kinsey's Mountain Cats dropped to 2-9-0 overall and 0-6-0 in the PSAC after a 4-0 setback at Slippery Rock on October 3 and a 4-0 home loss to Shippensburg on Saturday.

East Stroudsburg, 7-4-0 overall and 4-3-0 in the PSAC under Coach Rob Berkowitz (8th year), has won two of their last three matches, including a 4-2 win over PSAC-leading Gannon on Saturday.

Last season, Irvin Zucic and Anton Lysell each scored two goals to help the Warriors break open a two-goal halftime lead in a 7-0 win over the Mountain Cats in East Stroudsburg.

Pitt-Johnstown travels to PSAC matches at Seton Hill on Sunday and California (PA) on Wednesday, before hosting a conference match against Millersville on October 20 at noon.
