Caitlin Vrabel and
Noelle Carota each had 11 kills to lead the Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team to a 25-15, 27-25, 25-19 PSAC sweep at Lock Haven Saturday afternoon. The Mountain Cats closed out the 2018 regular season at 18-12 overall and 12-6 in the PSAC Central Division.
Pitt-Johnstown locked-up the No. 4 seed for the PSAC Volleyball Championships and will host No. 5-seed California (PA), Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center.
Pitt-Johnstown used a 12-1 run, capped by kills from Vrabel and Carota to break open a one-point game and give the Mountain Cats a 19-10 lead. Lock Haven cut it to 23-15, but Pitt-Johnstown was able to cruise to the 25-15 win.
The Bald Eagles jumped out to an 11-5 lead to start the second set, before two straight
Rebecca Miller service aces and an Mountain Cat block tied it at 19. It remained close, before Pitt-Johnstown scored the final two points to break a 25 all tie and take second set, 27-25.
The Mountain Cats then completed the sweep with a 25-19 victory.

Vrabel had 11 kills and four blocks, and Carota chipped-in 11 kills, nine digs, and two blocks to pace Pitt-Johnstown.
Maura Brehl finished with eight kills, five blocks, and nine digs, and
Anna Johns had six kills and four solo blocks.
The Mountain Cats also got 37 set assists and two aces from
J.C. Longeville, and 17 digs from
Erin Carmody.
Lock Haven, which ended its season at 10-17 overall and 5-13 in the PSAC Central, was led by Breanna McDonald's 11 kills. Gabrielle Stick had eight kills and Chloe Williams had seven kills and four blocks for the Bald Eagles.
