Georgian Court (NJ) University used strong pitching and single runs in the first and fourth innings to hold off Pitt-Johnstown, 2-0, Sunday afternoon in Clermont, Fla.
Morgan Cannin accounted for two of Pitt-Johnstown's four hits. With the loss, the Cats slipped to 0-2.
Georgian Court took an early 1-0 lead on Samantha Reilly's RBI double in the top of the first inning.
The Lions made it 2-0 win an unearned run in the top of the fourth and that's all Georgian Court would need. Jennifer Tellefsen pitched 5 1/3 scoreless innings, and Jessica O'Neil held Pitt-Johnstown scoreless over the final 1 2/3 innings to secure the victory.

Along with Cannin's two hits, Pitt-Johnstown also got singles from
Olivia Porter and
Kristie Radvan.
Ashley Pagliei pitched a complete game in her first collegiate start in the circle for Pitt-Johnstown. Pagliei allowed just two runs (1 earned) on five hits. She also struck out three and walked one.
Georgian Court evened its record at 3-3.
Pitt-Johnstown continues its Spring Trip in Clermont, Fla. with games against Cedarville (OH) University and Notre Dame College (OH) on Monday.
