Box Score The Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats softball team dropped game one of a double header against the University of the Sciences Devils, 13-10, Wednesday afternoon in Clermont, Fla. The Mountain Cats fell to 0-5 on the young season while the Devils improved to 3-7.
 
The Mountain Cats fell behind, 5-0, before rallying for three runs in the third inning to cut the deficit to 5-3.
 
The Mountain Cats bats got hot in the seventh inning when they took a 10-5 lead. Sydney Flinn drew the lead-off walk followed by a Morgan Cannin single. Jade Stubblefield brought home Flinn with a RBI single. Olivia Porter then reached on an error.
 
Hoover kept the rally going for the Mountain Cats with an RBI single of her own, before Radvan walked. Ali Belgiovane brought home another Mountain Cat Base runner with an RBI single, followed by a Stacey Walling sacrifice-fly.
 
Heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, the University of the Sciences Devils walked it off with a grand slam.
 
Offensively the Mountain Cats were led Cannin who finished the game 3-for-5, scoring two runs with 1 RBI. Stubblefield also finished the game going 1-for-2 and 2 RBIs.
 
Ashley Pagliei got the start no decision for Pitt-Johnstown. She finished the game with one inning pitched, giving up four runs on three hits and walking one.
 
Melissa Wagner came in relief and took the loss for the Mountain Cats. She threw six innings, giving up nine runs on eight hits, while walking one and striking out three.
 
The Mountain Cats take on Ursuline (OH) College tomorrow morning before game two against Trevecca (TN) University.
