
Bloomsburg struck for nine runs over the seventh eighth innings to break open a one-run game on its way to a 15-5 non-conference victory over the Mountain Cats, Tuesday afternoon in Bloomsburg.
Tyler Smith had two hits and drove in two, and
Scott Lucas had two hits and an RBI for Pitt-Johnstown, which fell to 11-27.
Pitt-Johnstown jumped out to a 2-0 first inning lead on
Nemo Trexler's RBI double and a run-scoring single from Smith, but Austin Edgette belted a two-run home run and Jake Reed drew a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the inning to give the lead right back to Bloomsburg.
The Huskies added two more runs in the third, before a
Scott Lucas base hit scored
Ty Treese to cut the deficit to 5-3.
Another Bloomsburg run in the bottom of the fourth made it 6-3. Pitt-Johnstown loaded the bases with one out in the seventh and got a walk from Smith and Treese to get to within one.

However, the Huskies got those runs right back, then broke it open with seven in the eight and went on to the 15-5 victory.
Along with Smith and Lucas, Trexler double and drove in a run and
Scott Thompson double and scored a run for Pitt-Johnstown. The Mountain Cats also got a double and two runs from
Dan Clark.
With the win, Bloomsburg improved to 28-13.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to Mercyhurst for a conference doubleheader on Friday, before closing out the 2018 regular season and celebrating Senior Day on Saturday against the Lakers at 1 and 3 p.m. at Point Stadium.
