
Looking to knock off 14
th-ranked Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University in Saturday's final round of the West Liberty/Wheeling Jesuit Conference Crossover Volleyball Tournament, Pitt-Johnstown took the opening set 25-23, but the Cardinals came back with 25-11, 25-16, and 25-13 wins to close out the match in four sets.
Noelle Carota's 14 kills and three block and Caitlin Vrabe'ls 12 kills, six blocks, and two service aces led the Mountain Cats, who slipped to 4-6.
Along with Carota and Vrabel,
Maura Brehl added 10 kills and six digs for the Mountain Cats. Pitt-Johnstown also got five kills from
Grace Miller and four kills and a pair of blocks from
Anna Johns.

J.C. Longville led the way with 27 set assists and nine digs, and
Morgan Yurkovich chipped-in 15 assists and four digs.
Erin Carmody paced Pitt-Johnstown with 13 digs, and
Hailey Mackenthun tallied 10 digs.
Haley Kramer (16 kills), Cassie Meyer (14 kills), Breanna Kramer (13 kills), and McKenna Babb (11 kills) all finished in double figures in kills for the Cardinals, who raised their record to 9-3.
Pitt-Johnstown opens PSAC-play at Clarion on Friday and at Indiana (PA) on Saturday. The Mountain Cats will make their 2018 home debut in the Sports Center with PSAC matches against California University (PA) on September 21 at 7 p.m. and Seton Hill University on September 22 at 1 p.m.
