PREVIEW - Men's and Women's Soccer to Host PSAC Matches Against Gannon on Saturday

Head Coach Vito Addalli's Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team and Head Coach Eric Kinsey's men's soccer team will host a PSAC doubleheader against Gannon University, saturday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer field.  The women will kick off at noon with the men's match against the 12th-ranked Golden Knights to follow at 2:30 p.m.

Pitt-Johnstown, 4-6-0 overall and 3-5-0 in the PSAC, is coming off of a 6-0 non-conference victory over Salem (WV) on Wednesday.  Abby LaDuke scored a pair of second half goals that helped Pitt-Johnstown break open a 1-0 halftime lead.  The Mountain Cats also suffered a narow 1-0 double overtime loss at Edinboro last Saturday.

Nineteenth-year Coach Colin Petersen and the Gannon Golden Knights are 4-4-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the PSAC after a 1-0 loss to Slippery Rock on Wednesday and a 3-0 victory over Clarion last Saturday.

Earlier this season, Gannon dealt Pitt-Johnstown a 5-1 loss in Erie on September 11.  The Golden Knights built a 4-0 lead, before Mia Dirienzo's goal in the 66th minute got the Mountain Cats on the scoreboard.

The Mountain Cats travel to PSAC matches at Slippery Rock on Wednesday and Clarion next Saturday, before hosting a conference match against Seton Hill on October 23 at 4 p.m.

Coach Kinsey's Mountain Cat men's team fell to 1-6-1 overall and 0-2-1 in the PSAC after a tough, 1-0 loss at Seton Hill on Wednesday. The Griffins got the match's lone goal from Archie Lock in the 49th minute. Jonathan Reboton made eight saves for Pitt-Johnstown.

Gannon, ranked 12th nationally under Coach Billy Colton, is 8-1-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the PSAC after two wins this week.  Gannon dealt Daemen (NY) a 6-0 non-conference loss on Monday, before Ivan Manfredi's goal in the 103rd minute gave Gannon a 2-1 double-overtime victory over Slippery Rock on Wednesday.

In last year's meeting on Sept. 12 in Erie, Sam Thornton scored a pair of goals to lead the Golden Knights to a 4-0 victory over the Mountain Cats.

The Mountain Cats visit Slippery Rock for a PSAC match on Wednesday to begin a stretch of four straight road matches, before coming home to host a conference match against California (PA) on Nov. 2 at 2:30 p.m.
