Soccer Teams to Host Matches Against Cal U on Saturday: Women Will Celebrate Senior Day

The Pitt-Johnstown men's and women's soccer teams return home to host a PSAC doubleheader against California (PA), Saturday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.  Coach Vito Addalli's women's team will celebrate Senior Day and recognize eight seniors prior its noon kick-off against the Vulcans.  Coach Eric Kinsey's Mountain Cats will follow with a 2:30 p.m. kick-off.

Prior to kick-off, the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer program will honor this season's seniors…Maddie Ivory, Danielle Lippl, Marisa Lizins, Maria Mosquera, Rachel Rogevich, Brooke Vollmer, McKendra Walker and Kyra Watkins.
 
Pitt-Johnstown, under Coach Vito Addalli, improved to 5-11-0 overall and 4-10-0 in the PSAC after Lippl's second half goal lifted the Mountain Cats to a 1-0 victory at IUP on Wednesday.
 
Coach Pete Curtis' (2nd year) California (PA) Vulcans are 3-10-1 overall and 2-10-1 in the PSAC after a 3-3 draw with Gannon last Saturday and a 4-0 loss to Slippery Rock on Wednesday.
 
On October 2, Pitt-Johnstown earned a 3-1 victory over the Vulcans in California.  Abby LaDuke scored two goals and Watkins had three assists for Pitt-Johnstown.
 
Pitt-Johnstown will close out the 2019 season with a PSAC match against Edinboro on Wednesday at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
       

The Mountain Cat men enter the match at 2-9-1 overall and 1-5-1 in the PSAC following an 8-1 loss at sixth-ranked Gannon on Wednesday.  Alex Laslavic accounted for the Mountain Cats' lone goal against the Golden Knights.
 
Coach Emedin Sabic's California (PA) Vulcans are 3-6-3 overall and 1-3-3 in conference-play after suffering a 2-0 home loss to Top-10-ranked Gannon last Saturday and a 1-0 loss at Slippery Rock on Wednesday.
 
Pitt-Johnstown opened 2019 PSAC play with a 1-1 double overtime draw at California (PA) on September 28.  Marcos Garcia Jr. put the Vulcans on top 1-0 with a first half goal, but the Mountain Cats were able to tie it in the 60th minute on an Alex Kochey goal.
 
Pitt-Johnstown closes out the season with a home PSAC match against Slippery Rock on Wednesday at 1 p.m., before celebrating Senior Day with a conference against Seton Hill next Saturday at noon.
