Noelle Carota had a match-high 12 kills and
Anna Johns added 10 kills to lead the Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team to a 25-20, 25-17, 25-23 PSAC sweep at Slippery Rock on Saturday. The Mountain Cats improved to 12-11 overall and 4-9 in the PSAC Southwest Division.
Carota finished with 12 kills, 11 digs, and a block, while Johns added 10 kills and a pair of blocks to lead Pitt-Johnstown. The Mountain Cat also got nine kills, five digs, and three blocks from
Caitlin Vrabel, seven kills from
Lauren Gechter, and six kills and four blocks from
Tatiana Pitcher in the sweep.
J.C. Longeville collected a match-high 41 set assists and eight digs, and
Erin Carmody had a match-high 20 digs and two service aces to pace Pitt-Johnstown. In addition,
Gabi DeRenzo tallied three aces and a dozen digs.
Slippery Rock, which dropped to 7-18 overall and 2-11 in the PSAC Southwest Division, was led by Abigail Koeller's eight kills and six digs. Erinn Kahoe chipped in seven kills and two blocks, and Abigail Nigon had six kills and three blocks for the Rock.
Pitt-Johnstown returns home to host PSAC matches against Mercyhurst on Thursday, Edinboro on Friday, and Gannon for Senior Day on Saturday.
