Softball to Host Pair of PSAC Games Against Clarion on Saturday

Johnstown, PA

Head Coach Niki Cognigni-Pecora's Pitt-Johnstown squad, 8-10 overall and 0-2 in the PSAC Central, suffered 1-0 and 6-4 losses at Lock Haven in Thursday's conference-opener.  Kristie Radvan drove in three runs for the Mountain Cats.

Clarion fell to 0-23 after being swept by Edinboro, 19-2 and 8-0, last Sunday.  Moriah Lynn had a double and an RBI for the Golden Eagles in game one.  Katie Zameroski and Lynn accounted for the two Clarion hits in game two. Friday's PSAC-opener against Indiana (PA) was postponed due to weather.

Last season, Pitt-Johnstown took 3-of-4 PSAC games from the Golden Eagles.  On April 10, the Mountain Cats earned 3-1 and 9-4 victories in Clarion.  The Golden Eagles got a two-run home run from Rebecca Kelly in a 6-5 win at V.E. Erickson Complex on April 20.  Pitt-Johnstown bounced back with an 8-3 win in the nightcap behind Montana Mang's three-hits, and Ashley Shor and Ali Belgiovane's two hits.

Pitt-Johnstown visits Seton Hill for a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday, before hosting a pair of PSAC games against Bloomsburg on Friday starting at 2:30 p.m. at V.E. Erickson Complex.
