With rain in the forecast for Friday, the Pitt-Johnstown softball team will now host its PSAC Central Division doubleheader against Indiana (PA) on Thursday at 2 and 4 p.m. at V.E. Erickson Complex.
Pitt-Johnstown, 15-11 overall and 5-3 in the PSAC Central Division under
Head Coach Niki Cognigni-Pecora, is coming off of a 3-0 and 10-0 non-conference sweep over Salem (WV) on Tuesday. The Mountain Cats got home runs from
Olivia Porter and
Jade Stubblefield, and complete-game shutouts in the circle from
Ashley Pagliei and
Alyssa Hileman. Pitt-Johnstown also swept a conference doubleheader at Mansfield and split a home PSAC doubleheader with Bloomsburg last weekend.
Indiana (PA), under first-year
Head Coach Shawna Bellaud, split a non-conference doubleheader at Seton Hill on Tuesday and comes in at 9-20 overall and 4-4 in the PSAC Central.Â
Lauren Goetz had two hits and drove in two in the Crimson Hawks' 5-4 victory in the opener. Seton Hill came back with a 3-1 win in the nightcap.
Last season, IUP swept Pitt-Johnstown 7-1 and 8-6 in Indiana on April 26. Â The Mountain Cats came back two days later with 2-1 and 8-7 victories at V.E. Erickson Complex.
Pitt-Johnstown will host a PSAC Central Division doubleheader at V.E. Erickson Complex against Lock Haven on Saturday at 1 p.m., before going to Seton Hill for a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday.
