Lennox Pugh collected three hits and two RBI, and
Isaiah Kearns belted a two-run home run and drove in four to lead the Mountain Cats to an 18-9 non-conference win a Shippensburg on Tuesday. Pitt-Johnstown improved to 11-5 on the year.
Pitt-Johnstown scored a run in the first and followed with five more in the second to open up a 6-0 lead.
Tyler Treese and
Jake Ansell each doubled in a run, and Kearns connected for a 2-run homer in the Mountain Cats' 5-run second.
Asher Corl, Ansell, and
Dylan Broderick all had an RBI in the fourth inning, before Pitt-Johnstown tacked on five more in the fifth to build the lead 14-1.
Shippensburg tried to get back in it with three runs in its half of the seventh, but the Mountain Cats answered with four runs in the eighth and went on to the 18-9 victory.

Pugh went 3-for-5 with two RBI and three runs, while Kearns homered and drove in four, and Ansell also drove in four for Pitt-Johnstown. Broderick had two hits and two RBI, Treese drove in a pair, and
Zach Zinn had two hits and scored three runs.
Ben Briggs limited the Raiders to just one run on two hits over the first five innings to even his record at 1-1. Briggs struck out six and walked one.
Joe Barbera had three hits and Zack Zoller and Jacob Pollock each had two RBI for Shippensburg, which fell to 6-11.
Noah Nabholz took the loss for the Raiders and slipped to 0-2 after allowing six runs on two hits in just 1.1 innings.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to Concord (WV) for a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday, before hosting a non-conference game against Bloomsburg on Tuesday at Point Stadium.
