D2CCA Names John Paul Kromka Second-Team All-Atlantic Region

Kromka, John PaulPitt Johnstown sophomore forward John Paul Kromka was named Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Second-Team Men's Basketball All-Atlantic Region when this year's teams were released on Friday.
 
Sports information directors from NCAA Division II Atlantic Region schools and conferences selected the two all-region teams. The process concludes with All-American selections announced later in the month. The Atlantic Region consists of schools from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), the Mountain East Conference (MEC) and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), along with independents Bluefield State and Salem.
 
The team is sponsored by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
  
Kromka, a native of Monroeville, Pa. and a graduate on Gateway High School, was a First-Team All-PSAC West selection and the PSAC West Defensive Player of the year for the second straight season.  He finished his sophomore season as the Mountain Cats' leading scorer (15.2 ppg.) and rebounder (8.3 rpg.).  He also led the team in field goal percentage (61.4%), free-throws made and attempted (104-139), and blocked shots (78).
 
Nationally, Kromka, a five-time PSAC West Defensive Player of the Week and a three-time PSAC West Athlete of the Week in 2019-20, ranks fifth in total blocks (78), eighth in blocks per game (2.52), 16th in field goal percentage (61.4%), and 40th in total rebounds (257).
 
In just two seasons at Pitt-Johnstown, Kromka has scored 918 points and pulled down 489 rebounds.
 
Kromka, a 2019-20 First-Team All-PSAC West selection and a two-time PSAC West Defensive Player of the year Award winner, was also a 2019-20 NCAA Division II Third-Team Academic All-American with a 3.92 overall GPA in Engineering.
 
West Liberty's Dalton Bolon was named the D2CCA Atlantic Region Player of the Year.
