Winona State (Minn.) University struck for four first inning runs and went on to an 8-0, 5-inning victory over Pitt-Johnstown to close out the Mountain Cats' Spring Trip in Florida on Friday. Pitt-Johnstown ended the trip at 5-5.
Pitt-Johnstown put its first two hitters on base in the top of the first, but couldn't score.
Winona State answered with four runs in its half of the first on a pair of home runs, before increasing it to 7-0 in the second on a two-run double and an RBI single.
Another homer in the fourth set the final at 8-0.
