Grace Miller's match-high 18 kills paced three Mountain Cats who finished with 11 or more kills, but Mercyhurst bounced back from a first set loss to deal the Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team a four-set PSAC Western Division setback, Saturday afternoon in Erie. The Mountain Cats slipped to 12-7 overall and 5-5 in the PSAC West.
Pitt-Johnstown took the opening set, 25-21, but the Lakers responded with 25-22, 25-20 and 25-23 wins to close out the four set victory.
Miller's 18 kills, two block assists, and 12 digs led Pitt-Johnstown, while
Lauren Gechter had a .423 hitting percentage and finished with 13 kills, and
Lualis Alvarado collected 11 kills and seven digs. The Mountain Cats also got four kills and two blocks assists from
Katelyn Courtney.

Adiamar Beaz led all players with 48 set assists and tallied 13 digs.
Erin Carmody led Pitt-Johnstown with 19 digs, and
Karin Ilagan had two service aces and 13 digs for the Mountain Cats.
Mercyhurst, which improved to 10-11 overall and 6-4 in the PSAC West, was led by Beth Brady's 16 kills and 14 digs and Madison Kasper's 12 kills and three block assists.
Pitt-Johnstown will close out the regular season home schedule with PSAC West matches in the Sports Center against Edinboro on Friday at 7 p.m. and Gannon for Senior Day on Oct. 30 at 1 p.m.
