Second Half Goal Leads Gannon to 2-1 PSAC Win Over Women’s Soccer

Erie, PA

Aranha_Meagan.JPGMeagan Aranha's first half goal knotted it at one, but Gannon used a goal in the 66th to break the tie and lift the Golden Knights to a 2-1 PSAC Western Division victory over the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team, Saturday evening in Erie.  The Mountain Cats slipped to 3-8-0 overall and 2-7-0 in the PSAC West.

Leah Bermudez's header off of Megan McCartney's cross found the back of the net in the seventh minute to give Gannon an early 1-0 lead, before Aranha finished Haley Neidig's assist with 15 minutes remaining in the first half to tie it at one.

It remained tied until the 66th minute when Taylor Lewis set up Sarah Fails who beat Pitt-Johnstown goalkeeper Megan Giesey with what turned out to be the match-winner.
