The Pitt-Johnstown men's and women's basketball teams will tip-off a busy week in the Sports Center on Tuesday with a PSAC Crossover doubleheader against Shepherd (WV) University.  The women will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. with the men's game scheduled for 7:30 p.m.  Pitt-Johnstown will also host PSAC Crossover doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday in the Sports Center.
 
      
Head Coach Mike Drahos (9
th Season) and the Pitt-Johnstown women come in at 3-5 overall and 1-1 in the PSAC West.  After a 62-54 loss at West Chester on Dec. 3 and a 63-56 victory at Millersville on Dec. 4 to tip-off PSAC Crossover-play, Pitt-Johnstown suffered a 71-67 non-conference setback at Salem (WV) on Saturday.  
Makayln Clapper's game-high 19 points and six rebounds led four Mountain Cats who scored in double figures.  
Olivia Fasick (13 points), 
Ashley Norling (11 points), and 
Peyton Alazaus (10 points) also scored in double figures for Pitt-Johnstown, while 
Molly Wagoner grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds.
 
      Shepherd, under eighth-year 
Head Coach Jenna Eckleberry, is 8-0 overall and 2-0 in the PSAC East.  The Rams used a game-high 29 points and seven rebounds from 
Abby Beeman and 22 points from 
Marley McLaughlin to secure a 76-69 non-conference win at Virginia State on Saturday.  Prior to that, Shepherd opened PSAC Crossover-play with a 63-59 win over seventh-ranked Gannon on Dec. 3 and a 70-57 victory over Clarion on Dec. 4.
 
      Pitt-Johnstown and Shepherd have met 15 times since 2005 and the Rams hold a narrow 8-7 advantage. The Mountain Cats have won four of the last five meetings, including a 70-67 victory in the Sports Center on Jan. 3, 2013, and a 90-80 win in Shepherdstown, W.Va. on Jan. 28, 2013 that saw 
Kaitlynn Fratz score 24 points to lead six Mountain Cat double-figure scorers.  
Emily Daniel's game-high 29 points and six rebounds, and 
Alex Weakland's 13 points and five rebounds paced Shepherd.
 
 
     Pitt-Johnstown men, ranked sixth in the D2SIDA Atlantic Region rankings under 33
rd-year 
Head Coach Bob Rukavina, are 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the PSAC West after a pair of road wins last weekend.  
Fred Mulbah scored a career-high 27 points, and 
John Paul Kromka added 19 points and 13 rebounds in a 78-70 win at West Chester to open PSAC Crossover-play on Dec. 3.  The Mountain Cats then dealt Millersville an 83-51 loss behind 
Drew Magestro's career-high 23 points and Mulbah's 21 points and six rebounds on Dec. 4.
 
    Kromka, who became Pitt-Johnstown's 32
nd 1,000-point scorer on Nov. 30, currently ranks 26
th on the Mountain Cat All-Time Scoring List (1,050 points) and 13
th on the All-time Rebounding List (561 rebounds), while 
Mulbah ranks eighth on the Pitt-Johnstown All-Time Assists List (408 assists).
 
    As a team, Pitt-Johnstown ranks 18
th nationally and second in the conference in field goal percentage (51.1%) and 38
th nationally and third in the PSAC in free-throws made (127).  Individually, Kromka paces the PSAC and ranks fifth in the country in blocks (20), sixth in field goal percentage (70.0%), and ninth in blocks per game (2.5), while Mulbah leads the conference and is fifth nationally in assists (54) and sixth in assists per game (6.8).
 
     Coach Justin Namolik (13
th-year) and the Shepherd Rams, 5-3 overall and 1-1 in the PSAC East, are coming off of a 56-54 home loss to Virginia Union on Saturday.  
Dan McClain-Corley's game-high 22 points and 
Kyle Daggett's 13 points led the Rams.  Shepherd opened PSAC Crossover-play with a 68-60 loss to Gannon on Dec. 3 and an 81-68 win over Clarion on Dec. 4.
 
     The Mountain Cats are 10-3 against the Rams since 2008.  Pitt-Johnstown has won nine of the last 10 meetings, including a 77-60 victory in Shepherdstown, W.Va. on Jan. 28, 2013.  
Nick Novak's game-high 23 points and double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds paced the Mountain Cats.  
Morgan McDonald and 
Chad Moore each scored 12 points to pace Shepherd.
 
      
Pitt-Johnstown will wrap-up the first semester with home PSAC Crossover doubleheaders with the men's team against Shippensburg on Saturday and Lock Haven on Sunday.  The women will tip-off both doubleheaders at 1 p.m. in the Sports Center.
