The Pitt-Johnstown softball team will play host to Clarion University for a PSAC Western Division doubleheader on Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m. at V.E. Erickson Complex.
 
Pitt-Johnstown, under 
Coach Niki Cognigni-Pecora is 2-8 overall and 2-6 in the PSAC West.  Led by 
Olivia Porter, who went 5-8 with four RBI and six runs, the Mountain Cats swept Edinboro, 10-8 and 21-0 on March 17.  Last weekend, Seton Hill took four PSAC games from Pitt-Johnstown.  The Griffins earned 5-1 and 4-2 wins at V.E. Erickson Complex on Saturday, before completing the sweep with 10-1 and 3-2 victories in Greensburg on Sunday.
 
      Second-year 
Coach Lis Fee's Clarion team is 3-9 overall and 1-7 in the PSAC West.  Clarion has lost its last six games, including four straight to California (PA).  The Vulcans picked-up 11-3 and 9-1 wins in California, Pa. on Saturday, then secured 11-10 and 9-7 victories in Clarion on Tuesday.
 
      Pitt-Johnstown has won the last five meetings between the teams and holds a 15-5 advantage in a series that began with Pitt-Johnstown's first ever varsity softball game on March 21, 2015.  In 2019, Pitt-Johnstown dealt the Golden Eagles 5-1 and 9-1 losses at V.E. Erickson Complex on March 30, before completing the season sweep with 6-0 and 9-5 victories in Clarion on April 24.

Pitt-Johnstown travels to Clarion on Tuesday and to Millersville for a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday, before hosting a PSAC West doubleheader against Mercyhurst on Friday at 2:30 p.m. at V.E. Erickson Complex.
