Bob Rukavina's Mountain Cats, coming off of their seventh straight berth in the conference tournament and third consecutive appearance in the quarterfinals, have been picked to finish fourth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division when the league office release its annual Presseason Coaches Poll on Thursday.
Indiana (PA) received eight of the nine first-place votes and is picked to win the PSAC Western Division, while East Stroudsburg, which received seven of the nine first-place votes, is picked to win the Eastern Division.
Pitt-Johnstown returns four starters and seven of the team's top-eight contributors, including National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-American and three-time Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Defensive Player of the Year,
John Paul Kromka. The senior forward dominated the NCAA Atlantic Region and led the Mountain Cats in scoring (17.5 ppg.), rebounding (8.1 rpg.), and blocks (3.0 bpg.). Kromka also dished out three assists per game.
