Three-time PSAC West Defensive Player of the Year
John Paul Kromka continued where he left off a year ago and was named this year's initial PSAC West Men's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week by the conference on Monday.
In a pair of Mountain Cat victories over West Virginia Wesleyan and Charleston (WV) in the Pitt-Johnstown Tip-Off Classic, Kromka averaged 18.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 blocks, one assist and one steal. Kromka also shot 73.0% (17-23) from the field.
In Friday's season-opening 73-51 win over the Bobcats, Kromka scored a dozen points on 6-7 shooting, pulled down six rebounds, blocked three shots, and dished out ann assist.
He followed that effort up with a game-high 25 points on 11-16 shooting in Saturday's 72-65 win over the Golden Eagles. Kromka also grabbed six rebounds, blocked a game-high five shots, made a pair of steals, and added an assist.
