Division I Mount St. Mary's handed the Mountain Cats an 88-61 defeat in an exhibition matchup on Wednesday night at Knott Arena in Emmitsburg, Maryland. It was the first time in 34 years that the two teams faced off.
Peyton Alazaus collected a team-high 19 points to go along with four rebounds and three steals for Pitt-Johnstown (4-3). Ashley Norling shot 6 of 10 from the field and finished with 13 points, three rebounds and three assists.Â
Hayden Taylor chipped in nine points and four rebounds. Olivia Fasick dished out five assists.
Despite being down 50-31 at halftime, the Mountain Cats outscored Mount St. Mary's 18-17 in the third quarter.
Michaela Harrison scored a team-high 19 points, and Jo Raflo added 18 points for Mount St. Mary's (2-4).
Pitt-Johnstown returns to the Sports Center to square off with No. 8 Glenville State on Tuesday. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
