John Paul Kromka, a two-time PSAC Men's Basketball West Defensive Athlete of the Year honoree, garnered his fourth Defensive Athlete of the Week honor in 2021-22 when the conference office announced the weekly awards on Monday.
In a pair of Mountain Cat wins last week, Kromka averaged 17.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 4.5 blocks per game. Kromka also shot 73% (16-22) from the field.
In Wednesday's 71-70 victory at California (PA), Kromka scored 14 points on 7-9 shooting and grabbed six rebounds, including five on the defensive end. He dished out two assists, blocked one shot, and made three steals.
Kromka followed up that effort with a game-high 21 points (9-13 FG) and 12 rebounds (9 defensive rebounds) in Saturday's 72-59 win at Edinboro. Kromka blocked a game-high eight shots, had two assists and made one steal.
Kromka was also named the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week on November 15, December 6, and January 24.
